Cobra Aviation was the brainchild of Tom Wickers, who set out to design a composite, high performance, low cost 2-place aircraft. It needed to be built without specialised tools in as short a time as possible. His aim was to ensure that ordinary folk could tackle the building successfully, and be flying before they grew weary of the building process. And the plane had to be able to be registered in both the Ultralight / Recreational and General Aviation categories.
The result was the Cobra Arrow - which took Tom just 18 months to design, build and fly. Completely Australian designed and built, the Arrow is the first in a series of high performance and innovative aircraft - with the Explorer (high-wing) and Landseair (amphibian) following soon after.
